Well, busy winter down at the shop.
All of the rods are off, changing out some brass. Injector's being rebuilt. Lots of other projects on the go, as well.
I'll post some pics when I get some time to get down to the shop.

Tomorrow, I head down to the shop to help get the train ready for our Christmas runs, called the Spirit of Christmas.
Over the 10 runs, I will be 5 different characters.
I'll try my best to get some shots of the steamer and the entire train all lit up.

We need to take all the side rods off, and replace some brass. And that's just starters.
Arch brick, burner re-build, NDT and DWT testing of several components.
With any luck, I'll be able to get several shots of the work being done, and post them up.

Not trying to tease anyone, but I'm taking some more detailed pics of the locomotive for a friend who plans on modeling #2141.
Once I get them all done and uploaded, I'll post them here, as well.
Might be a while, with this dumb shift the company has me working.

Thanks for that photo Pac ! As a bit of a "machinehead" myself that pic shows just one of the componets that had to be delt with in the larger service facilities of yesterday. With the size, type of metal, and use of all of the steamers it's not hard to believe the amount of wear experienced throughout a locomotive.
It's great to see this material, it's like an inside to the shop!

Here's a pic of some of the repairs done this winter.
This is the hogger's side cross head. If you zoom in, you can see the wear pattern where the main rod connects to the cross head.
The repairs were done, and everything worked out as good as we had hoped.
