Excellent Simon, Your one of us.......!!!!
It is very interesting to see others work areas as it shows that all of us maintain about the same order of "essentials" :[]:

Alright. Here's the finished product. I stained it with polystain all in one polyurethene/stain. I wanted it to look like it was a little fancier than plywood. LOL. It's an antique dark walnut color.

Thanks Gears, I'll give that a try.
I have to go pick up a small desk that My Step Daughter gave to Me and put it together, add some leveling screws ,and finish. I want to add a larger top to it too,I tend to spread out as I'm working.

If you want to paint it with something really tough, go with polyurethene. It will take SEVERAL coats to acheive a good slick finish, but it will be worth it.

That's looking real good,Gears. You could lay down and sleep on that puppy ( at least until You start working at it) . I haven't got Mine built Yet but gotta start soon,The Boss kicked Me off the table. I don't know why, it ain't like I'm usin' chain saws on it.
What kind of paint, is there some real tough stuff out there? I'd rather paint mine if there is, I had planned to cover mine with formica or the like.

More workbench progress. I got the back on , and decided to put up some pegboard. Now all it needs is a good coat of paint.

Honey, I'm in the shop!!!
Excellent progress Rob! At over 9' long you have good working space and could even install a length of test track!
A power strip screwed to the underside edge might help keep your cords out of your way. I'm sure Kitty will be glad to get her dining room table back!!!

Well, here it is in all it's gory...er uhh I mean glory...I guess. We just got done with it. Now I have a place to model other than Kitty's dining room table. It's 9.5' long and 14" wide. Ain't much, but it'll gitRdone. I'll be adding a back on it with some pegboard. When we're all done, I'll post some more.
